Mensa I of the University of Bochum
The cafeteria is located in the area of the temporary forum, situated east of the university. It serves the students of the university's first expansion phase. The cafeteria is of particular importance for student services in Bochum, as the university campus lies outside the city centre. With a total volume of approximately 26,000 cubic metres, it was to be constructed in eight to ten months. The task had to be accomplished with minimal construction effort; the technical facilities had to be state-of-the-art. The building contains a dining hall with 712 seats, an à la carte dining room with 182 seats, and a refreshment room with 156 seats.
