The walls, positioned parallel to the beams, divide the space into compartments that appear self-contained but also offer views through to each other. 3. Staircase room divider in a studio building. Architect: Dr. Ing. Reinhard Gieselmann, Karlsruhe. The wooden staircase, supported by a central stringer, leads to a mezzanine. 4. Room divider in a restaurant of the SAS Hotel, Copenhagen. Architect: Prof. Arne Jacobsen, Copenhagen. The dividers create open compartments along the end wall of the room.
