The client is the Upper German Province of the Jesuit Order. The site is located near Nymphenburg Palace in a park-like setting. The proximity of historic buildings called for a low, nuanced structure that blends harmoniously with the surrounding trees. Beyond its functional purpose, the building was intended to reflect its intellectual and spiritual significance. The rationality of the floor plan, reflecting the lifestyle of its inhabitants, is also dictated by its design. Furthermore, the building was designed to provide the resident scholars and writers with the stimulating environment of a suitable home and workplace.
