The ground floor of the house, built of exposed brick and situated on a slope, houses a classroom, the caretaker's apartment, and ancillary rooms; the upper floor contains the living and sleeping quarters. Some of the rooms were originally oriented to the north. These rooms receive light from the south through a continuous band of windows in the roof structure.
