The complex, consisting of six essentially identical residential units (see floor plan), is located on the waterfront road between Copenhagen and Helsingør. It was therefore necessary to shield the houses from the busy passing traffic with walls that simultaneously connect the houses to one another, thus forming a self-contained settlement. These dividing walls continue into the load-bearing walls of the houses themselves. They are constructed of whitewashed brickwork. Columns, window frames, and the mullioned walls in the kitchens and bathrooms are made of natural teak. The fascia boards and soffits of the roofs are made of pine.
