The challenge was to create a temporary station with two 300-metre-long platforms, each with two tracks, to accommodate the heavy special train traffic of the exhibition. In addition, a rain shelter was to be erected, providing space for approximately 6,000 people. A complete suspended structure with a thin corrugated fibre cement roof was chosen. The two roof sections, of unequal size, are suspended from four pylons. Beneath the wing facing the lake, measuring 34 x 70 metres, is the open waiting area with ticket counters, kiosks, and restrooms.
