Setagaya Ward Local Art Museum

In planning and constructing the Setagaya Ward Museum, the architects drew on their experience with the Okayoma Art Museum, which they had recently completed. The Okayoma Art Museum was built primarily in Ortbetan, using only a few prefabricated elements. The insights gained there, along with the difficulties often encountered in Japan that hinder meticulous craftsmanship and technical execution in exposed concrete, led to the decision to construct the Setagaya Ward Museum exclusively with precisely prefabricated concrete elements.
