For organizational reasons, the administration building was laid out in a cruciform pattern. This resulted in a windowless space in the centre, which could only be illuminated from above the floor level. To accommodate the spans and also to mark the building's centre, a ribbed vault roof was constructed. The ribs were manufactured from cold-formed beams in the workshop, manipulated on site, and then lifted into place as a complete dome in a single operation by a heavy crane.
