Cantonal School in Winterthur
New building west of the old cantonal school building on the former cemetery grounds at the foot of the southern slope of the Eschenberg. Good topographical location and, above all, a significant advantage in terms of operational efficiency, due to good connections with the existing building. - The rapidly increasing number of students necessitated the planning of the new buildings. The aim was to separate the Gymnasium (academic high school) and the girls' school from the Oberrealschule (a type of secondary school) and the teacher training school; however, this separation would only apply to general instruction.
