Suspended Wooden Ceilings

1. Dining area in a residential building. The concrete beam was clad with planks. At the level of the beam's lower edge, a suspended ceiling made of profiled fir boards connected with inserted tongues. Architect: F. Hierl, Murnau. 2. Ceiling in a restaurant in Zurich. Beneath the concrete ceiling, a shallow gable-shaped plank ceiling, partly made of cedar strips with emphasized grooves, partly of veneered blockboard. Architect: O. Zollinger, Zurich.
