House in Holzkonstruktion

The architects' primary concern in the design and layout of this house was to draw inspiration from traditional Japanese architecture. The spatial impression, particularly of the large living room, is defined by the wood-clad end walls extending into the shallow gable space and the double beams that reveal the roof structure. The load-bearing timber frame is also visible from the outside. It consists of round columns made of American cypress.
