The building forms the ecclesiastical centre of a parish encompassing over five rural communities with approximately 3,000 parishioners. It was built on a rise on the outskirts of the district capital, so that its northern entrance facade rises above the town centre. The church plateau itself is bordered at its base in a triangular shape by two roads leading from the town.
