The building was intended to serve the exhibition requirements with all associated ancillary facilities, while simultaneously demonstrating characteristic construction applications for welded tube structures. It was erected on a 50-metre-wide, twenty-sided ground plan. Diagonal columns on the exterior support and define the roof. The radially arranged half-trusses of welded tube construction span an area of 1960 square metres and form the roof.
