Gable Roof Rooms with Suspended Ceilings
The images on these two pages show a restaurant room (above) and the function room of the "Loponia" sports hotel in Arvidsjauerl, Lapland. Architects: Ole Helweg and Børge Glahn, Copenhagen. The roof structures above the intermediate floors of both rooms were constructed as follows (from inside to outside): prefabricated foam concrete roof elements, insulation, air space, wooden sheathing, and asphalt tile roofing. Parallel to the roof structure are the intermediate floors, formed from lightweight panels and suspended below the roof.
