This building can be considered typical of a large category of contemporary buildings that seemingly exhibit hardly any noteworthy details, yet are entirely explained by details. The architect writes: "Buildings of this kind are characteristic of the majority of the tasks we architects have to perform today and are thus themselves symptomatic 'detail' of contemporary construction: A client commissions the construction of a house in which, despite all good intentions and understanding for the architect's aims, the client must subordinate the architectural aspirations to profitability, and in which, furthermore, the volume is determined by official regulations (again without artistic considerations) for the chosen or found building site."
