Hall Ceilings with Tubular Trusses

The multi-purpose room, built on a hexagonal plan, was fitted with a spatially developed, angled tetrahedral tubular truss (Mannesmann's Okta system) as the most sensible and economical roofing solution under the given circumstances. This truss was supported at each end by the bottom chord node. The structure is clad with a single-layer wooden ceiling supported by purlins and covered with cork tiles and copper sheeting. The lighting is integrated into the triangular grid of the bottom chord.
