Partially Open Balcony Railings
2. Balcony facade of a girls' dormitory in Reutlingen (architect: Dipl.-Ing. W. Beck-Erlang, Stuttgart). The relatively wide, cantilevered balconies, constructed of concrete, feature wooden railings on the sides. 3. Detail of the balcony section of an apartment building in Zurich. The partially open parapet panels are cast in one piece of concrete and firmly mounted with iron brackets. Safety is provided by tubular railing posts embedded in the walls.
