Primary School in Düsseldorf
The entire complex comprises two parallel, single-aisle classroom wings, each approximately 65 metres long, connected by two stairwells. The classrooms face east and west, while the corridors, which also serve as a break hall in winter, open inwards onto the schoolyard. A covered walkway provides access to the gymnasium (see floor plans on page 630). The reinforced concrete frame construction of the buildings has a clear grid pattern, which is visually reflected in the paving of the courtyard.
