The staggered structure was seamlessly integrated into the hilly terrain. The two-storey living room in the main house is spanned by a timber-framed roof. This roof is supported both internally and externally by timber columns with steel hinges, resting on concrete foundations, and fitted with closely spaced purlins, in such a way that it not only bears the considerable snow load but can also be used for skiing (access via the chimneys). Some of the trusses are reinforced with steel bracing.
