This wall was constructed with 186 concrete tracery blocks (59.5 x 59.5 x 63 cm) (see the two images of this element). It bears so much load that the entire structure of the tracery supports the rising wall of the nave, the solid ceiling, and the roof. (A load test only showed the first cracks when a total load of 50 tons was applied to a single block.) The aim was to achieve a diffused, spherically diffused light incidence. At the same time, the design was intended to provide significant sound insulation against external noise.
