Musegg Apartment House in Lucerne

Stairwell and hall facade of the Musegg apartment building in Lucerne. Architects: Gebr. Schärli, Lucerne • Scobalit grid panels were used to create a transparent skin over the facade. The 30 mm thick panels are framed by hot-dip galvanized steel mullions, sealed with Compriband, and reinforced against wind pressure by point anchors to the ceiling joists. The properties of the two-layer panels (high flexural strength, good thermal insulation, consistent light transmission, warm golden-yellow tint) met the requirements. Ventilation flaps are integrated. Ceiling connections are made with wooden strips and rubber seals.
