The building was constructed using earthquake-resistant methods: yellowish rubble masonry with horizontal and vertical, 10 cm thick reinforced concrete stiffeners, which also frame each door and window. The roof slab is also made of reinforced concrete. The exposed concrete elements were whitewashed. - Regarding the masonry construction: Experience has shown that the reinforced concrete stiffeners are resistant to earthquake vibrations. In earlier times, similar solutions were achieved using clay bricks and wooden stiffeners. (Bottom right: Images and drawings of the window construction with sunshades.)
