High-Rise Housing Block in Cologne

The story-high, cassette-like prefabricated elements are approximately 1.40 m wide. The concrete shells each have two vertical and three horizontal ribs. These ribs are 6 cm thick in the panels and 13 cm thick at the ribs. The panels were lined with foam boards; a second 2 cm thick layer of foam material was then glued over the entire back. During production, the Gail split panels were first placed in the mold. This was followed by the reinforcement and the steam-cured concrete. Anchors and bearing bolts were cast in place at the same time.
