The Baden-Württemberg State Parliament building is the first newly constructed parliament building in Europe in four decades. It stands as an independent cube within a large, flowing park-like green space, near significant historical buildings, against which it appears relatively small. Its location is slightly raised above the surrounding terrain. The building has a footprint of 54 x 54 metres and is 20 metres high, including the basement. Its grid dimensions are 9 x 9 metres.
