Stairs Inside
Staircase in the guest building of the Protestant Academy in Mülheim/Ruhr. Architect: Dipl.-Ing. Fritz Winter, Krefeld (see also "Detail" 3, pp. 200 ff. and in this issue, p. 298). The stringers, made of 80/8 flat steel, are supported by rods anchored to the building's top ceiling. Bracing beneath the steps prevents the staircase from swaying.
