The wall behind the altar was constructed from prefabricated, two-layered, spherically shaped concrete elements. These relatively large and deep elements (57 x 60 cm outer dimensions) were positioned like large building blocks using a construction crane. Rebates were cast into their outer surfaces, into which irregular coloured glass panes were directly cemented with special cement. The tints of the glass, specified by the architect, were colour-coordinated with the overall palette of the church. The mold for the concrete element was developed by the sculptor E. Leitner of Vienna. Following the architectural and casting preparations, the wall elements were industrially prefabricated at the Ebensee concrete plant.
