While the remaining three walls of the main swimming pool are solid (side walls constructed of 60 cm thick, thermally efficient masonry), the south wall is entirely constructed of double-glazed units. The pillars and roof lintels were externally insulated and clad with dark-painted aluminium sheeting. The frames of the double-glazed units are made of anodized light metal (Gartner system). A comprehensive report on this construction project was published in "Baumeister," issue 11/1960.
