Details of the “Castrol House” in London

The building complex is divided into a three-storey low-rise building and a fourteen-storey high-rise. It offers 15,357 square metres of usable floor space and 55,870 cubic metres of enclosed volume. The column foundations of the low-rise building rest on concrete plinths, while the high-rise's foundations consist of two concrete pile foundations approximately 2 metres deeper. On either side of the tower block, there are two expansion joints extending the full height of the low-rise building. A structural system using reinforced 8.5-inch thick concrete slabs was chosen. Utility lines are accommodated with sufficient flexibility, and support elements of the same thickness as the concrete slabs are installed between the columns.
