In December 2014, the University of Greenwich inaugurated its new 16,000 m² academy and library building on a UNESCO world heritage site in Stockwell Street, London. The winners of the international architectural competition five years ago, Heneghan Peng Architects, responded to local urban conditions with a compact building complex compartmentalized into relatively small units and with different facades. Laid out on the flat roofs are 14 gardens with an overall area of 2,800 m². With their greenhouses and varied plantings, they also provide objects of instruction in landscape architecture for the students.
