Research and Production Building for Monitoring Devices in Bubikon

 - Emilia Margaretha

This enlarged complex for Trafag, a company producing instruments for monitoring gas, consists of two sections that are separated by a planted open space traversed by concrete bridges and staircases. This garden area acts as an acoustic buffer and ensures natural lighting of the adjoining spaces. An independent platform allows many different manufacturing forms to be housed here, and the column grid can bear such a high working load that new production processes would be immediately possible. Laid out in linear form, the building can be enlarged to twice its size without having to make structural changes. The rhythmic articulation of the facade lends the complex a unified appearance.
