Object+Product: »CityCube« – Congress and Exhibition Hall in Berlin
The conference business is lucrative – in Berlin, roughly a quarter of overnight stays are booked in connection with a conference or congress event. A prerequisite for continued success is therefore a functional and architecturally appealing venue. With the final demolition of the dilapidated Deutschlandhalle in 2011 and the closure of the technically outdated ICC in spring 2014, a suitable new building was essential. The Dresden-based firm Code Unique emerged victorious from the design competition with their "CityCube" concept. The new congress and exhibition hall opened in 2014.
