Temporary Installation in the Monastery Courtyard of Girona

Objects resembling hammocks or magic carpets invite visitors to this former monastery courtyard in Catalonia to escape the turbulence of city life into a garden of the senses. The timber structures are suspended at various heights over herb beds. The glazing that closes off the cloisters on three sides is decorated with quotations from Italo Calvino’s “Invisible Cities”. From hidden solar microphones come the sounds of cicadas and crickets.
