Object+Product: SchwabenGalerie in Stuttgart-Vaihingen

Stuttgart-Vaihingen didn't really have a historical centre – because the town centre, which in other cities is primarily defined by a market square, was in Vaihingen the site of a large, fenced-in brewery complex. With the departure of this industry, the town had a unique opportunity to make up for lost time and actively begin developing a new town centre. The competition launched for this purpose initially envisioned a typical American-style shopping mall – a self-contained, artificial world, introverted and air-conditioned.
