For many years, Vorarlberg architecture has stood for ecological construction using local building materials – and for the highest architectural quality. Long before sustainability and resource conservation became a focus of public attention, Oskar Leo Kaufmann, Carlo Baumschlager, Walter Unterrainer, and many others proved that architecture "made in Vorarlberg," while regionally influenced, is nonetheless innovative and future-proof.
