The commission for these solar loading stations incorporated both the design and the concept for their manufacture with the triaxial laser cutter of the industrial partner. The planning team was thus able to implement the project directly from the parametric 3D model of the designers. The lattice shell that was developed consists of a single layer at the thin edge, increasing to a double layer towards the centre, where the tensions are greater. A program had to be scripted that would generate an individual geometry for each of the more than 2,000 components.
