In this building, wood stands for recyclability. The movement of reusable material in and out of it determined the form and floor plan. The facade is clad in untreated larch boarding. When the openings are closed, it appears to be a monolithic block. The sliding gates guide the customers and, in combination with the skylights, contribute to the bright atmosphere. The locally sourced roof structure spans up to 15 metres. It is supported by non-hinged columns; connections, tension rods and column restraints are in steel. The glue-laminated primary and secondary beams and the edge-fixed elements atop it are gently arched to direct the flow of rainwater. The different shapes were attained through CNC milling.
