A new community centre was to be built for the Emmaus parish in Heidelberg-Pfaffengrund, directly adjacent to the small Church of the Resurrection. From a competition with five participants, the design by netzwerkarchitekten was selected as the winner and completed after approximately two years of construction. Within the listed historical grounds, the new building creates a new urban edge to the church forecourt, thereby also strengthening the access to the entire complex. The central design element is the striking ceiling structure made of laminated timber.
