With the reddish pigmentation of its concrete skeleton frame, the new development bears a certain resemblance to a brick ensemble. It forms part of a national project for music and creative industries which consists of an office building and the conversion of a warehouse for gastronomic purposes and a gallery. The courtyard between the buildings continues in the form of a terrace across the promenade along the canal, and the public space is enlivened by ground floor shops and workshops. The shallow gable form at the top of the office block makes reference to existing buildings in the area. The open concrete facade with a horizontally boarded texture and the room-height glazing with external sunshading permit a good exploitation of daylight. Glazed corridor walls, movable partitions and the modular facade grid allow changes of use.
