The conversion of a former convent in the south of Ghent created teaching facilities for children and pupils with hearing and visual disabilities as well as autism. The neo-Gothic building, built in 1873, forms the centre of a school ensemble and is preserved in its original form. Over the decades, however, the structure was converted and therefore also modified several times. Many of its original architectural qualities had been lost.
