In architecture, the abbreviation “SoHo” stands for “Small Office Home Office” – a typology that links housing with offices containing up to 10 workplaces in the same building. It is one of the core elements of the development area La Chapelle on former railway land in the north of Paris. The urban plan foresees approximately 8,000 m² of SoHos, plus roughly 1,000 conventional dwellings, 45,000 m² of offices, 700 m² of shops, a school, a day nursery and a 400-metre-long logistics centre next to the remaining railway lines. On the flat roof of the last object, public sports areas and a 7,000 m² “urban farm” have been created.
