Casa Rossa in Chemnitz

 - Heide Wessely

Rough and blunt - that is how the facade of the townhouse and its exposed Imperial German format bricks appears to viewers. It establishes a strong contrast to the smoothly rendered neighbouring buildings, while still responding to them in an harmonic way. Both the visible traces of its history and the present-day elements are characteristic to the building: Exposed brick meets precisely executed, sharp edged exterior casing, which conceals the frames of the narrow windows.
