Karuizawa lies at a height of between 900 and 1100 metres above sea level, at the centre of Honshu, the largest Japanese island. Its pleasant climate and peaceful natural environment make it very popular with those wishing to flee the metropolis Tokyo. This holiday home is a leisure time retreat for a large family made up of 14 people in all. Takahiro Endo replaced the building that once stood on the site with a house that also has a floor area of 200 m² but is narrow and long, allowing the residents to walk into the woods directly from each of the rooms and to experience an immediate contact with nature.
