Discussion: Buildings that Bask in the Sun: Solar Construction - The Basis of Post-Fossil Architecture

At the end of the brief "fossil episode", which has lasted barely 150 years, a social change is beginning to manifest itself in the energy sector. If, in the future, we shall have only "vital" sources of energy at our disposal, we should not forget that the sun provides the annual energy needs of the whole of mankind in half an hour. As a rule, vital energy sources are waste-free; and if the energy supply in post-fossil society no longer causes pollution, the step to an economy of material recycling is only logical. Waste is lack of imagination. Indeed, with high salvage costs for raw materials and drastic charges for depositing them in the ground, water or air, the recycling economy could flourish.
