Discussion: City Centre and Township - South Africa Needs Design
Much has been written about urban conditions in South Africa, about the division between races under apartheid and the division between classes in a developing economy that provides access to enormous wealth for a few in the face of desperate poverty for many. Viewed from the air, these extremes are even more visible. One impression remains, however, and that applies to both the First and the Third World landscapes of South Africa: the environments in which we live urgently need design.
