Technology: Concrete recycling - recycled concrete
The re-use of construction materials is not an achievement of the post-industrial age, but has always been practiced in various forms. In recent years it became increasingly clear that the looming resource scarcity could only be offset by recycling demolished concrete. Currently, the new construction material known as recycled concrete (RC) is actually a competitive product, at least if transport distances to recycling facilities are short. Eventually, recycled concrete will become one of the most important mass construction materials of the next decades.
