Technology: Simple Details
Not only construction and traditional craft work have changed fundamentally over the past decades. A young, new generation of clients has emerged that is concerned exclusively with the economic viability of building. Architects today are often responsible solely for the initial design and artistic supervision and have little say on site. It is no use complaining about all this, however. New architectural concepts are needed to counter this purely cost-oriented attitude, and details have to be developed that are simple enough for unskilled workers to implement.
