Acoustics are a branch of physics. Their application is a topic of engineering. Without physics, soundscapes and acoustic phenomena, regardless whether they occur in open space, in the opera or in an office, cannot be understood. At best, they can be influenced intuitively. Room acoustics as a discipline deals with the transmission of sound within spaces. Building acoustics focuses on the transmission of sound into these spaces. Good spatial acoustics are always based on appropriate building acoustics and soundproofing.
