The architects created a temporary open air swim club at the Carmersbrug, right in the middle of the historic city centre. Steel pontoons serve as support for a galvanized steel frame with a terrace deck made of recycled scaffold boards. Only the southern tip is open for swimmers. Changing rooms are located at a nearby school. Steel mesh serves as a safety barrier and spans between the deck and the steel roof beams. The roof structure consists of canted steel slats held in position by rafters supported by slender steel columns. The canted slats also drain the roof. Some of the columns feature flagpole brackets that serve to signal whether swimming is permitted at the moment or not.
