Concrete Elements for Elevator Shafts

With made-to-measure concrete shaft elements Hieber Betonfertigteilwerk offers ready-to-install floor connections. The system components are cast on four sides and delivered fully equip-ped. All the installation parts and recesses such as door openings and fall protection devices are already integrated into the precast elements at the factory. The way in which the individual elements are linked together depends on the environment: For interior elevator shafts, a sheathing connector ensures a sufficiently stable connection. In the case of external shafts and shafts that are required to reinforce the building in contrast, the concrete elements are held together with a continuous screw connection reinforcement. The inside of the shaft must be between 1.5 × 1.5 m and 3.5 × 2.5 m large, and the wall thicknesses vary between 15 and 30 cm. The maximum height of the concrete elements is 7 m,
although it is normally storey-height. Hieber also offers the elevator core box as a prefabricated part including a water pressure-
tight connection.
