BDR bureau
Alberto Bottero and Simona Della Rocca founded their architectural office in Turin in 2016, naming it after the initials of their names. Already in 2013, their installation “He YAP” was installed in front of the MAXXI art museum in Rome: a floating cube made of translucent lemon-yellow plastic. Their urban renewal projects were featured at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2016 and 2018. BDR often adapts existing structures to new conditions and uses in projects big and small. In Turin, they gave a one-room apartment a generous makeover by installing a multifunctional unit holding a small kitchen and a folding bed. Their largest project to date is their renovation of the Fermi School in Turin, which has received numerous awards.
